The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic Gariyaband started its academic activities in 2010 with the admission of its first batch of students. Since then, the department has been dedicated to providing quality diploma-level technical education and developing skilled mechanical technicians for industry and society.
Mechanical Engineering is a versatile branch that deals with the design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems. The program is conducted as per AICTE norms and is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai, ensuring academic standards and industry relevance.
The department currently has an approved intake of 15 students per year, allowing focused learning and individual attention. Students are prepared for employment in manufacturing, automobile, maintenance, and allied technical sectors, as well as for higher education.
